About me, about this

I’m just another UK-based data scientist who happens to be a woman who happens to be trans who happens to have ADHD. That last part is more crucial than it seems, because sometimes I stop randomly and say to myself “that seems statistically unlikely – oh look a new project!” and I get on with my life, forgetting about this site. I’ve been a school teacher, an open-source intelligence analyst, a corporate data scientist, a freelancer, and had two amateur cage fights. (ha! Even Copilot did not see that one coming)

Like all the other people in my exact sub-sub-demographic (or at least I assume, I haven’t asked her), my brain has a lot more to say than my mouth / hands can make, especially when I get annoyed at something online and wanna go “well, actually … !”. At the same time, doing anything with consistency is hard for me, and like a lot of ADHDers learning to cope with being wired differently, I’ve decided to embrace that I won’t ever manage to naturally focus on one area of life for long and that’s fine, and that the scatter gun approach may work better for me. So this site has a lot of everything, with very few key themes, except perhaps those of statistics, science, the joys and lamentations of womanhood. If you’re one of the few reading this site, the pleasure you derive consuming matters, but it matters less than the pain I took in in creating it. Telling myself that makes it easier to put stuff up here without cringing myself to sleep every night.
